Mark Wahlberg has been the proud center of attention in a new controversy. A year ago, Wahlberg claimed that he “went from 220 pounds to 160 pounds” for his new movie, The Fighter, allegedly through clean living and lots of running. However, many expected this claim to be an exaggeration since the former rapper did get into some trouble with the law back in his younger days. According to a report on Halodrol .com, Mark Wahlberg used steroids so he could bulk up quickly for his role in The Fighter.
Is it possible that Mark Wahlberg used steroids? This has not been confirmed nor denied so far, but looking at some pictures taken during the production of The Fighter, one can only wonder. Mark Wahlberg used to be a rapper, and he did get into trouble with the law, pleading guilty to several counts of assault. These charges revolve around an incident in 1988 when Mark Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men while trying to steal alcohol from a convenience store together with some friends.
Mark Wahlberg pleaded guilty despite his claims that he was “blackout drunk” during these events and did not remember anything about them: “You want the truth? I’m never going to tell you the whole truth because I don’t remember, but what happened is we minded our own business, and we were basically attacked,” Wahlberg said at the time.
However, according to police reports, Mark Wahlberg stepped up to two Vietnamese men and beat them with a wooden stick. He punched one of these men in the face and even tried to push both of them over a forty-foot bridge! The two Vietnamese men only survived the attack because they managed to escape their assailants.
During the production of The Fighter, Mark Wahlberg was interviewed by George Stroumboulopoulos on the Canadian talk show The Hour. During this interview, Mark Wahlberg once again opened up about his past mistakes. He also talked about how he decided to play the role of heavyweight boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward in The Fighter.
At one point during his life, Mark Wahlberg walked around at 220 pounds – boasting an astonishing amount of muscle mass for someone who is supposedly clean living. Apparently, Wahlberg had a talent for boxing, and he used this talent to make his way into Hollywood. For The Fighter, Mark Wahlberg wanted to gain weight as well as muscle mass.
According to the media reports from Halodrol .com, Mark Wahlberg gained this extra weight in only four weeks using the following drug stack:
– Testosterone enanthate (375 mg/week)
– Equipoise (boldenone undecylenate) at a dose of 600mg/weekly
– Anastrozole (Arimidex) at a dose of 1mg/day plus Tamoxifen Citrate 20/10/20 at a dosage of 10mg three times per day.
The report by Halodrol.com also claims that Mark Wahlberg increased his food intake significantly to achieve a daily caloric intake of 5,000 calories per day! In addition, he used L-Carnitine and Creatine to keep the fat gain minimal.
According to the website, these fluctuations in body weight took their toll on Mark Wahlberg’s health: “In an interview with Men’s Health Mag back in 2008, he said he was ‘borderline diabetic’ and has battled ‘all kinds of digestive problems as a result of bulking up for a movie role.” The article ends with a plea from the writer for Mark Wahlberg to get checkups done at regular intervals if he continues using steroids.
In the past, Mark Wahlberg was very open about his life and the mistakes he made during his younger years. His openness about these events only makes it more believable that Mark Wahlberg used steroids for his role in The Fighter. While there is no proof to back up these allegations, this report might just be the tip of the iceberg.
